La notizia della collaborazione tra l'artista giapponese Yayoi Kusama e la Maison francese Louis Vuitton non è nuova agli addetti ai lavori! Ormai è da gennaio che se ne parla ma soltanto ora i prodotti stanno prendendo forma!
La collezione sarà lanciata infatti la settimana prossima, presso il flagship store Louis Vuitton sulla 5th a New York (la fortuna vuole che io sia proprio lì per lavoro!), in concomitanza con l’inaugurazione della mostra dedicata all'eclettica artista presso il Whitney Museum di New York. Yayoi Kusama, 83enne artista le cui opere hanno come tratto distintivo il pois, ha stretto una collaborazione con la griffe per la realizzazione di una linea di borse, accessori, scarpe, orologi, gioielleria e ready-to-wear. La collezione sarà distribuita nei 453 negozi del gruppo francese. Purtroppo l’artista non sarà presente in quanto Kusama vive dal ‘70 in un ospedale a Tokyo per curare i suoi problemi psichici.
The news of the collaboration between the Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama and the French Luxury Maison Louis Vuitton is not really new! Since January in fact there are rumors about that but products will be revealed only now!
The collection will be launched next week at the Louis Vuitton flagship store on 5th in New York (Lucky me! I will be in Town for work reasons!) coinciding with the inauguration of the exhibition dedicated to the eclectic artist at the Whitney Museum in New York.
Yayoi Kusama, 83years –old artist whose works have as their features the polka dots, has collaborated with the brand to create a line of handbags, accessories, shoes, watches, jewelery and ready-to-wear. The collection will be distributed in 453 stores of the French group.
Unfortunately, the artist will not be present at the launch! Kusama - since '70- lives in a Tokyo hospital to treat his psychological problems.
