HERMES BIKE

This is a perfect news for my blog! Hermes is launching a line of carbon bikes, in fact the company has unveiled two ultra-lightweight carbon fiber bicycles, Le Flâneur d'Hermès and Le Flâneur sportif d'Hermès, which come in three colors – charcoal, red and white – and feature bull calf leather on the saddles, handlebar grips, carry handles and luggage rack supports.
François Doré, head of the Hermès Horizons division that worked on the project, said the bikes were handmade in France by local manufacturer Time.
“We really want to work with people who have a very deep expertise, and wherever possible, we try to find them in France,” said Doré, whose department also develops interiors for cars and private jets.
“We set out to make a real bike, not a decorative object. It had to be simple, efficient, easy to use, pleasant and elegant.” In addition to a shock-absorbing frame, the bike features belt-driven transmission, hydraulic disc brakes and a choice of eight or 11 gears integrated into the rear wheel hub. It will be available in November in Hermès stores worldwide for 8,100 euros (or $10,750!).
Ok, not affordable!

BREAKING NEWS: IT'S OFFICIAL NICOLAS GHESQUIÈRE FOR LOUIS VUITTON

It’s true, NICOLAS GHESQUIÈRE has officially been named Louis Vuitton's new Creative Director.
Ghesquière has been rumoured to be the frontrunner for the role for some time, although Bernard Arnault said last week that "no decision will be made immediately". The designer left his position at Balenciaga in November last year and is currently being sued by the brand's owner, Kering, for breach of confidentiality after he criticised the label's management in an interview. He accused the fashion house of "lacking in direction", and described being "sucked dry" during his tenure there.
Marc Jacobs surprised the industry with his exit at the Louis Vuitton show during last Paris Fashion week, in order to focus on his brand (he held the role of creative director for 16 years introducing the label's ready-to-wear line).
