Ooops he did it again! New season new collaboration.
Maison Martin Margiela's much-talked-about collaboration with Converse recasts the shoe brand's classic kicks with a bit of the French fashion house's avant-garde styling.
The partnership takes Converse's timeless shoes (the Chuck Taylor All Star high-tops and the Jack Purcell sneakers, to be exact) and covers them in a coat of white paint. Over time, the paint is supposed to chip off to expose one of four colors (white, black, blue, or red) underneath. Both shoes will be available this month and will retail for $200.
"The Maison has always been obsessed with white; it is used as a layer to give an incognito feeling," the house said in a statement, "a sort of poetry. With the passage of time, the shoe asserts itself."

Ed ecco che per la seconda volta Maison Martin Margiela ci riserva una collaborazione davvero inaspettata (anche se i rumors già da un po’ l’avevano anticipato); sto parlando di Margiela e Converse (nello specifico la collaborazione si focalizzerà sull’iconica scarpa Chuck Taylor All Star e Jack Purcell).
Il risultato? Una All Star completamente rivestita di bianco (colore iconico della maison Margiela) con “effetti” colorati – come reduce da un bagno nella pittura – nei colori rosso, nero, blu navy e giallo Margiela!
Le scarpe sono disponibili sul mercato da questo Settembre alla modica cifra di 200USD.
